HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 12112012 - C.65RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Director of Animal Services, or designee, to execute a contract with Robert L. Brown Construction, Inc., in an amount not to exceed $28,500, to install 284 metal kennel tops at both shelters, for the period of December 11, 2012, through March 13, 2013. FISCAL IMPACT: This contract is funded 100% by the County's Animal Benefit Fund. BACKGROUND: The purpose of this contract is to install new metal counter tops for all of the kennels located at both the County's Martinez and Pinole shelters, thus preventing animals from climbing out of their kennels. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this contract is not approved, animals will continue to climb out of their kennels, which may result in injury to the animal, as well as unintended and potentially dangerous contact with other anmals, the general public, and/or shelter staff. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: N/A.
