ADOPT Position Adjustment Resolution No. 21210 to add one (1) full-time Planner III (5ATA) (represented) at
salary level ZA5 1694 ($5,560-$6,758) and cancel one (1) vacant Senior Transportation Planner (5AHB)
(represented) position no. 471 in the Department of Conservation and Development.
FISCAL IMPACT:
No fiscal impact to the general fund. This add/cancel personnel transaction will generate annual cost savings of
approximately $22,000. Of this amount, approximately $8,000 can be attributed to retirement cost savings.
BACKGROUND:
Due to a promotion, the Department of Conservation and Development (DCD) has a vacant Senior Transportation
Planner position. To meet current operational needs, DCD is proposing to cancel the vacant position and replace it
with a full-time Planner III position. The Planner III position is the journey level in the Planner series and may serve
as first line supervisor.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
Failure to approve this request will limit the department’s ability to conduct its planning activities.
