ADOPT Position Adjustment Resolution No. 21205 to add one Administrative Services Assistant III (APTA)
(represented) position in Employment and Human Services/Workforce Development Board.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Upon approval, this action will result in $128,400 additional personnel expense. This position is 100% Federally
funded. Unappropriated Workforce Investment Act revenue is available. An appropriation adjustment is forth
coming. The associated pension costs for this position are $46,006.
BACKGROUND:
This request is for one (1) permanent Administrative Services Assistant III position for the Workforce Development
Board (WDB). This position will be funded with Workforce Investment Act (WIA) funds.
The department has employed a temporary employee in this position the past two years. It is now appropriate to
establish a permanent full time position to perform the required duties.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
of functions, with particular emphasis on gathering, organizing, and reporting data to support the publication of
reports and other communications from the WDB to internal and external stakeholders. The position will also
support administrative projects and initiatives with other county departments and external partners, support with
contract development and administration, and related activities. Further, the position will help to prepare and
maintain protocols for the development and dissemination of communications and manage tools and platforms
that support the WDB’s mission and goals.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
Failure to approve the request to add one Administrative Services Assistant III position will result in state and
federal funds being returned. The department has employed a temporary employee in this classification the past
two years and it is now appropriate to establish a permanent full time position to perform the necessary duties.
