HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 12042012 - C.109RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Memorandum of Understanding Agreement #28-840 with Children’s Hospital and Research Center at Oakland, a non-financial agreement, for Contra Costa County’s Public Health California Children’s Services nurse liaison project for the period from October 1, 2012 through October 31, 2014. FISCAL IMPACT: This is a non-financial agreement. No County match required. BACKGROUND: The purpose of this MOU is to facilitate a link for children within the California Children’s’ Services program and to ensure appropriate and timely referrals to the California Children’s Services (CCS) program. Approval of this Memorandum of Understanding Agreement #28-840 will allow the County to designate a member of its Public Health California Children Services staff to participate with Children’s Hospital and Research Center at Oakland in planning, implementing, and coordinating non-nursing care activities for the Public Health Nurse/California Children Services Liaisons, including, but not limited to health clearance and background check requirements for non-employees, through October 31, 2014, including agreeing to mutually indemnify and hold the other party harmless from any claims arising out of the performance of this Contract. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this agreement is not approved, the residents of Contra Costa County will not have access or timely referrals to the California Children’s Services (CCS) program.
