APPROVE appointment of Kathy Gallagher to the position of Director of Employment & Human Services
Department (County Welfare Director); AUTHORIZE the Auditor Controller to reimburse the new EHSD Director,
Kathy Gallagher, for reasonable moving expenses incurred in relocating to the Bay Area from Santa Barbara County,
in a total amount not to exceed $5,000; and AUTHORIZE the monthly vacation accrual of Ms. Gallagher at a rate of
twelve (12) hours per month, with a beginning balance of 80 hours.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The costs of these expenses are within the fiscal year 2012-13 budget of the employing department (Employment &
Human Services).
BACKGROUND:
The County conducted an external recruitment from June - October, 2012. As a result of this recruitment, Ms.
Gallagher accepted the position and will begin employment on January 7, 2013.
In order to accept the position, it is necessary for Ms. Gallagher to relocate to the Bay Area from Santa Barbara
County. A one-time reimbursement payment in an amount not to exceed $5,000 is necessary to help defray moving
expenses.
