HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 12042012 - C.52RECOMMENDATION(S): ADOPT Position Adjustment Resolution No. 21200 to cancel one (1) vacant 40/40 Building Plan Checker II (FRVA), position #979 (represented) and add one (1) 40/40 Senior Building Plan Checker (FRTA) position (represented) at salary level Q55 1479, in the Department of Conservation and Development (DCD). FISCAL IMPACT: Upon approval, this add/cancel transaction will result in an annual net cost of approximately $15,000. Of this amount, approximately $4,000 represents retirement costs. The additional costs of $15,000 will be covered by land development fees; no general fund monies will be used for this position. (100% Land Development fees) BACKGROUND: The Department of Conservation and Development (DCD) is experiencing increased demand in engineering and plan check work due to three power plant contracts and several large planning projects that have moved to the permitting/plan check phase. To meet operational needs, DCD is in need of a Senior Building Plan Checker to perform the more complex electrical plan check work. The current vacancy is a Building Plan Checker II, which is a lower level classification. This Board Order will eliminate this vacant Building Plan Checker II position and add a Senior Building Plan Checker instead.
