APPROVE Appropriations and Revenue Adjustment No. 5032 authorizing new revenue in the Sheriff's Office (0255)
in the amount of $1,353,620 from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, 2011 Port Security Grant, with the
Marine Exchange of the San Francisco Bay Region as the fiscal agent, and appropriating it for the purchase of marine
patrol equipment.
FISCAL IMPACT:
No net County costs. This action increases revenue and appropriations by $1,353,620. (CFDA No. 97.056)
BACKGROUND:
On December 13, 2011, the Board authorized the Sheriff's Office to apply for and accept the 2011 Port Security
Grant. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) selected the Marine Exchange of the San Francisco Bay
Region (SFMS) to serve as the fiscal agent for the 2011 Port Security Grant Program. As a sub-grantee, the Sheriff's
Office will use 2011 Port Security Grant funding to purchase equipment and pay for maintenance to further enhance
the security capabilities established with the 2006, 2007 and 2010 Port Security Grants.
