HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 11132012 - C.30RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Agricultural Commissioner, or designee, to execute Agreement #12-0142 Exotic Pest Detection Trapping with the California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA), in an amount not to exceed $715,916 to reimburse the County for pest detection services, for the period of July 1, 2012 through June 30, 2013. FISCAL IMPACT: This agreement reimburses the County for expenditures incurred July 2, 2012 through June 30, 2013 not to exceed $715,916. BACKGROUND: The County shall provide services for placing and servicing of traps for the detection of exotic pests, which are considered hazardous to agriculture, the environment and the the economy of California. Exotic insect pests may include, but are not limited to: Mediterranean fruit fly, Mexican fruit fly, oriental fruit fly, melon fly, gypsy moth, and Japanese beetle. This list is not inclusive and may contain other invasive exotic pests as identified. This agreement includes delimitation work in the event of detection of one or more life stages of target pests in the county.
