FISCAL IMPACT: Upon approval, this action will result in an annual cost of approximately $5,778.69, including pension costs of $1,395.53, and will be offset with the cancellation of the Staffing and Patient Care Coordinator position and funding from the Hospital Enterprise Fund including FQHC funds. BACKGROUND: The Health Services Department’s inpatient registration and staffing office was previously led by a Staffing and Patient Care Coordinator, a single position classification. However, the position has been vacated and with current operational changes the department has identified that the management classification for the inpatient registration and staffing office should be aligned with the ambulatory care registration staffing level. BACKGROUND: (CONT'D) of Supervisors approved the re-title of the Ambulatory Care Registration Manager classification to the current Registration and Staffing Manager title. This retitle allows the Health Services Department to align management levels of the inpatient registration and staffing office and the ambulatory care registration office. Therefore, the department is requesting to cancel the Staffing and Patient Care Coordinator position and add a Registration and Staffing Manager position. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this action is not approved, the department will not have a position in the appropriate classification to recruit and retain a qualified individual that will meet the needs of the inpatient registration and staffing office, which will negatively impact patient care, and the maintenance and scheduling of core staffing levels.
