HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 11132012 - C.07RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent, on behalf of the Public Works Director, to execute a Purchase Order with Nixon-Egli Equipment Co., in an amount not to exceed $400,000, for the purchase of a Gradall 4100IV Hydraulic Excavator for Public Works Road and Flood Control Maintenance, Countywide. (100% Local Road Funds) FISCAL IMPACT: 100% funded by Local Road Funds. BACKGROUND: This equipment will be used for slide repairs, bank/slope repairs, channel cleaning and any emergency road and flood control repairs or maintenance and will replace an existing 1985 model year Gradall excavator that needs costly engine retrofitting in order to stay in compliance with State Air Control Board regulations. Although this equipment will be paid for with local road funds, a hourly use rate for this equipment is established to pay the cost of ongoing operational, maintenance, repair, and depreciation which is charged to specific work order numbers that are ultimately paid for with road or flood control funds.
