Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Unpaid
Student Training Agreement #23-530 with University of Nebraska Medical Center, an educational institution, to
provide field instruction with Emergency Medical Services Division for contractor’s Emergency Medical Services
(EMS) preceptorship students for the period from January 1, 2013 through December 31, 2015.
FISCAL IMPACT:
None
BACKGROUND:
The purpose of this agreement is to provide Contractor’s students with the opportunity to integrate academic
knowledge with applied skills at progressively higher levels of performance and responsibility. Supervised fieldwork
experience for students is considered to be an integral part of both educational and professional preparation. The
Health Services Department can provide the requisite field education, while at the same time, benefitting from the
students’ services to patients.
Under Contract #23-530, Unpaid Student Training Agreement will allow supervised fieldwork instruction experience
for Contractor’s students, at Emergency Medical Services Division, through December 31, 2015.
