Correct the Board Order which was approved by the Board of Supervisors on September 11, 2012 (C.91) with
Pediatrix Medical Group of California, A Professional Corporation, to reflect the intent of the parties in which the
Payment Limit should have read $264,000, instead of $120,000, to provide newborn hearing screening services in the
Labor and Delivery Unit at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers, for the period
from August 1, 2012 through July 31, 2014. (Enterprise Fund I)
FISCAL IMPACT:
This Contract is funded 100% by Enterprise Fund I.
BACKGROUND:
On September 11, 2012, the Board of Supervisors approved a Board Order, Item #C.91, which superseded an April
17, 2012 Board Order, Item #C.57, approving Contract #26-713 with Pediatrix Medical Group of California, A
Professional Corporation, to provide trained and qualified personnel including not less than one (1) Site Coordinator
and one (1) Hearing Screener who will be on-site at CCRMC seven days a week, 365 days

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
a year to perform newborn hearing screening services, for the period from August 1, 2012 through July 31, 2014.
The purpose of this Board Order is to correct the Payment Limit from $120,000 to $264,000 to reflect the intent of the
Department with no change in the term through July 31, 2014. This Contract included modification to the County’s
standard indemnification clause.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this board order is not approved, the contract would not reflect the appropriate payment limit allowing the
Contractor to provide hearing screening through July 31, 2014.
