Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract
Amendment Agreement #26-668-7 with Asereth Medical Services, Inc., a corporation, effective September 4, 2012,
to amend Contract #26-668-6, to decrease the payment limit by $80,000, from $210,000 to a new payment limit of
$130,000, with no change in the original term of April 1, 2012 through March 31, 2013.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This amendment is funded 100% by Enterprise Fund I. No change in rates.
BACKGROUND:
On June 26, 2012, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-688-6 with Asereth Medical Services, Inc. for
the period from April 1, 2012 through March 31, 2013, for the provision of temporary pharmacists and pharmacy
technicians to provide coverage during peak loads, temporary absences and emergency situations.
At the time of negotiations the Payment Limit was based on target levels of utilization. The decrease in this Contract
will reflect a decrease in the number of temporary pharmacists and

pharmacy technician services provide by Contractor. Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #26-668-7 will
allow the Contractor to provide temporary pharmacist and pharmacy technician services, through March 31, 2013.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this amendment is not approved, Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Plan will provide
more pharmacist and pharmacy technician coverage than required for the Divisions.
