HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 11062012 - C.49RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent, or designee, on behalf of the Public Works Director, to execute a purchase order amendment, with Hunt & Sons Petroleum, to increase the payment limit by $71,000 to a new payment limit of $170,000, for diesel and unleaded fuel, for the period from February 1, 2012 to January 31, 2013. FISCAL IMPACT: This cost is to be funded through 12/13 Fleet ISF maintenance budget. BACKGROUND: General Services Fleet Management is responsible for the County fueling station on Waterbird Way. We purchase fuel for the station by accepting daily bids from fuel distributors. There are currently five vendors submitting bids. Local vendors interested in supplying fuel to the County are encouraged to contact us and get the necessary information to start submitting daily bids. Hunt & Sons Petroleum is a secondary fuel supplier. We are currently spending over $20k per month with Hunt & Sons Petroleum, with three months remaining on our purchase order. We are requesting an increase in the payment limit from $99,000.00 to $170,000.00 CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this purchase order amendment is not approved, fuel for the Waterbird Fueling Facility will not be purchased from Hunt & Sons Petroleum.
