Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, (Marilyn Underwood) to execute, on behalf of
the County, Grant Award Agreement #28-511-26 (EA23-12-14) from the California Department of Resources
Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle), to pay County an amount not to exceed $26,191, for the continuation of the
Local Enforcement Agency (LEA) assistance funds for the Department's Environmental Health Division Solid Waste
Program (“Solid Waste Program”), for the period July 1, 2012 through October 28, 2013.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Approval of this Agreement will result in an amount not to exceed $26,191 of funding for the Department's Solid
Waste Program. No County match required.
BACKGROUND:
The California Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle) accepted the County’s application, as
approved by the Board of Supervisors on May 8, 2012 for the Local Enforcement Agency (LEA) Grant Program, for
the period from July 1, 2012 through June 30, 2013.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
Award Agreement #28-511-26 will all allow the County to use the funds solely for the support of the solid waste
facilities permit and inspection programs, including personnel, training, equipment, supplies, and technical support,
including agreeing to indemnify and hold harmless the Grantor from any claims arising out of the performance of this
Grant Agreement, through October 28, 2013.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this Agreement is not approved, the County will not receive funds to support its solid waste facilities permit and
inspection programs.
