ADOPT Personnel Adjustment Resolution No. 21173 to add one (1) Sheriff's Ranger (64WR) (represented) position
at salary level VN5 1017 ($2,842 - $3,455) to the Office of the Sheriff - Custody Services Bureau – Health Services
Security Unit.
FISCAL IMPACT:
$94,760, 100% Contra Costa County Health Services Department.
BACKGROUND:
The Health Services Department is opening the West County Health Center in Richmond in addition to the Richmond
Health Center. Currently the Richmond Health Center houses Mental Health, Public Health and WIC programs. A
Deputy Sheriff currently provides security for the Richmond Health Center but is slated to relocate to the new center,
therefore he will be replaced with a Ranger to provide a visible, full time, onsite security presence, for the remaining
Public Health and WIC programs at the Richmond location. The Health Services Department will provide the funds
to pay for the security the Ranger will provide for the Richmond Health Center .
