FISCAL IMPACT: This action will result in a cost savings. The costs are offset by the cancellation of one Network Technician II and it is estimated the department will save approximately $6,646.64 per year. BACKGROUND: The department is continuing to adjust to the recent merger of the Public Works Department and General Services Department; as a result, we recently re-evaluated the Information Technology division’s needs when an employee resigned from the Network Technician II position. Consequently, because of the increased number of employees that our Information Technology division now has to support, the department found that this position should be more appropriately downgraded to an Information Systems Technician II.
