BACKGROUND: The mission of the Contra Costa County Alcohol and Other Drugs Advisory Board is to assess family and community needs regarding treatment and prevention of alcohol and drug abuse problems. The Alcohol and Other Drugs Advisory Board works in collaboration with the Alcohol and Other Drugs Services Division of Contra Costa Health Services. They provide input and recommendations as they pertain to alcohol and other drugs prevention, intervention, and treatment services. Supervisor Gioia recruits for his open advisory body seats in various ways including through his website, eblasts, newsletters, and the traditional media. He interviews all eligible applicants. Ms. Ginsberg is a clinical psychologist with a specialization in chemical dependency. She worked for Solano County as a mental health clinician, and as a substance abuse clinician. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: The seat will remain vacant. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: None. ATTACHMENTS Nina Smith Application
