HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 11062012 - C.16RECOMMENDATION(S): INTRODUCE Ordinance No. 2012-11 to re-title the classification of Assistant County Clerk-Exempt to Deputy County Clerk-Recorder Exempt in the Clerk-Recorder Department, waive reading and fix November 13, 2012 for adoption. FISCAL IMPACT: There is no cost associated with the action. BACKGROUND: Assistant County Clerk-Exempt is a single position classification. The department wishes to re-title the current classification to correctly reflect department's official name, define the responsibilities within the department and to correspond with other County General Government departments. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this action is not approved, the classification will not be appropriately titled. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: No Impact. Weir, Clerk Recorder Date:November 6, 2012 Contra Costa County Subject:INTRODUCE Ordinance to re-title the classification of Assistant County Clerk-Exempt ATTACHMENTS AIR 12228 P300 21152 Ordinance 2012-11 ORDINANCE NO. 2012- 11 (Retitle the classification of Assistant County Clerk – Exempt to Deputy County Clerk-Recorder-Exempt) The Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors ordains as follows (omitting the parenthetical footnotes from the official text of the enacted or amended provisions of the County Ordinance Code): SECTION I: Section 33-5.383 of the County Ordinance Code is amended to retitle the classification of Assistant County Clerk to Deputy County Clerk- Recorder- Exempt, and to exclude Deputy County Clerk – Exempt from the merit system, to read: 33-5.383 - County clerk-recorder. (a) The Deputy County Clerk-Recorder-exempt is excluded and is appointed by the clerk- recorder. (b) The Assistant County Registrar-exempt is excluded and is appointed by the clerk-recorder. (c) The Assistant County Recorder-exempt is excluded and is appointed by the clerk-recorder. (Ords. 88-11 § 2, 86-23 § 3). SECTION II: EFFECTIVE DATE. This ordinance becomes effective 30 days after passage, and within 15 days of passage shall be published once with the names of the supervisors voting for and against it in the ______________________________________, a newspaper published in this County.
