HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 11062012 - C.10RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director, or designee, to issue a payment for $1,500 from County Service Area R-7A (CSA R-7A), made payable to the Alamo Chamber of Commerce for the maintenance of holiday lights at Andrew H. Young Park, Alamo Area. (District II) FISCAL IMPACT: This project is funded by CSA R-7A funds (100%). BACKGROUND: The Alamo Parks and Recreation (CSA R-7A) participates in the Chamber of Commerce Annual Tree Lighting each year. CSA R-7A contributes use of Andrew H. Young Park and provides funding to decorate the park with holiday lights. This year the event will take place on December 2, 2011 from 4:30 PM - 6:30 PM. The lights will be installed on November 26, 2012 and removed by January 14, 2013. The Alamo Tree Lighting event is a collaborative effort and is presented by the Chamber of Commerce. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: Without Board approval this event would not be possible. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: Not Applicable. District II Staff Update - Marketing & Staffing Plan for 2012 Events 3. PUBLIC COMMENT (3 minutes/speaker) Pursuant to the Brown Act, this time is provided for members of the public and community groups to address the committee on matters within the committee’s jurisdiction and not on the agenda. An opportunity will be provided as part of each agenda item for public comment on the item. Time allowed for each individual is three minutes. The Chair will recognize only those speakers who have filled out and turned in a speaker card. Andy Haas thanked the Alamo MAC for allowing his donation of 7 Japanese maple trees planted in Andrew H. Young Park. Jim Peterson expressed his concern over the handling of the sign issue by the County at 3000 Danville Blvd. Sharon Burke spoke to let people know of the LAFCO agenda item that would annex all of Alamo into the boundaries of CSA R7-A. Such an annexation would not result in any additional taxes being assessed, but rather a redistribution of the current taxes collected currently. 4. PRESENTATIONS A. Update on the new Alamo Fire Station by SRVFPD Fire Chief Steve Hart Asst. Fire Chief Steve Hart said that the Fire District was going through the due diligence process with the bids received for the demolition and grading of the new site. With a projected start date of 6/18/2012, this part of the process is anticipated to take 6 weeks. The RFP for an architect for the design of the new fire station has been sent out for bids. 5. NEW BUSINESS A. Home Occupation Permit Application #LP12-2018, 114 S. Jackson Way – Perform business office duties for a roofing company in a private home. - Action requested: receive application, take public comment, discuss - Make recommendation to Supervisor Uilkema’s office Motion: Accept report and recommend approval – Passed 6/0 unanimous B.
