Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Standard
Agreement (Amendment) #29-775-21 (State #05MHF009, A12) with the State of California, Managed Risk Medical
Insurance Board, effective October 1, 2012, to amend Standard Agreement #29-775-9 (as amended by Amendment
Agreements #29-775-10 through #29-775-20), to increase the amount payable to County by $4,310,485 from
$29,892,193, to a new total of $34,202,678, to make technical adjustments to the agreement, and to extend the term
through September 30, 2013.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Approval of this Standard (Amendment) Agreement will result in an increase of $4,310,485 from the State of
California, Managed Risk Medical Insurance Board for fiscal year 2012-2013 for the Healthy Families Program. No
County funds are required.
BACKGROUND:
On June 26, 2005, the Board of Supervisors approved Standard Agreement #29-775-9 (as amended by subsequent
amendment agreements #29-775-10 through #29-775-20), with the State of California, Managed Risk Medical
Insurance Board for the period from July 1, 2005 through September

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
30, 2012, for County’s participation in the Healthy Families Program.
Approval of Standard (Amendment) Agreement #29-775-21, will allow County to continue participation in the
Healthy Families Program through September 30, 2013.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this contract is not approved, participants in the Healthy Families Program will not receive services and the County
will not receive funding.
