HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 10232012 - C.35RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE a First Amendment to Lease with Wells Fargo Bank, National Association, for a five (5) year term beginning July 1, 2012 and ending June 30, 2017, for approximately 8,022 square feet of office space at 151 Sand Creek Road, Suites A-D, Brentwood for continued occupancy by the Employment and Human Services Department, under the terms and conditions set forth in the Lease. (WLP764) AUTHORIZE the Director of Public Works, or designee, to EXECUTE the First Amendment to Lease on behalf of the County and to EXERCISE any options to extend the Lease. FISCAL IMPACT: The First Amendment to Lease will obligate the County to pay a total rent of $637,800 during the five (5) year lease term. In addition, the County will pay approximately $81,640 for estimated miscellaneous maintenance and occupancy charges used on the Premises in the first year, and similar payments throughout the term. The First Amendment to Lease was anticipated and budgeted in the Employment and Human Service Department’s approved FY 2012/13 budget. Bueren, Public Works Date:October 23, 2012 Contra Costa County Subject:151 Sand Creek Road, Units A - D, Brentwood – First Amendment to Lease for Employment and Human Services Department BACKGROUND: The County has leased this office space for the Employment and Human Services Department (EHSD) since April 2008. EHSD provides Calworks, Medi-Cal, Food Stamps and Child Welfare services at this location. This First Amendment to Lease will provide for the continued use by the EHSD for those purposes. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: Failure to approve this First Amendment to Lease may result in a significantly higher cost to the County and unknown capital costs and expenses to relocate this EHSD facility to another location in the Brentwood area.
