HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 10232012 - C.30RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE Appropriations and Revenue Adjustment No. 5020 authorizing new revenue in the amount of $692,000 from the Sheriff AB879 Fund (0274) and appropriating it to the Sheriff's CAL ID program (2517) to purchase five years of annual Livescan maintenance, for the period of July 1, 2012 to June 30, 2017. FISCAL IMPACT: This action increases revenue and appropriations by $692,000, with no change in net county cost. The new revenue is from the Sheriff AB879 Fund (0274). BACKGROUND: The Live scan devices that are being covered by this maintenance agreement are Cogent Systems products, and are configured to be compatible with the Cogent Systems Automated Fingerprint Identification System. Other vendors do not have the ability to maintain Cogent Systems devices as the devices are configured to specific Cogent developed technology. The agreement provides for 24 hours 7 days a week maintenance service and a replacement option as the Live Scan devices move towards the end of their useful life.
