Subject:Appointments to the Advisory Council on Aging
BACKGROUND:
The Advisory Council on Aging was created to advise the Board (acting as the Area Agency on Aging), and the
County Office on Aging on all matters related to the developments, operation and administration of the annual Area
Agency Plan. The Council provides a means for Countywide planning, cooperation and coordination for individuals
and groups interested in improving and developing services and opportunities for the County's older residents.
The Council consists of forty seats, of which twenty are at-large.
At the October 1, 2012 meeting of the Family and Human Services Committee the applications were reviewed and
the Committee recommends the Board of Supervisor appoint the nine individuals recommended by the Area Agency
on Aging.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
The Advisory Council on Aging will be unable to fill this position.
