HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 10232012 - C.19RECOMMENDATION(S): APPOINT Doug Stewart as the County Planning Commission (Commission) representative to the Transportation Partnership and Cooperation (TRANSPAC) Committee, the regional transportation planning committee for central Contra Costa County, as recommended by the Commission. FISCAL IMPACT: None. BACKGROUND: The TRANSPAC Committee provides the forum for the cooperative multi-jurisdictional transportation planning process in central Contra Costa County. All cities and the County must participate in these forums to be eligible for their return-to-source allocations under the local transportation sales tax (Measure J-2004). The Board of Supervisors appoints two members of the 12-member TRANSPAC Committee: one person representing the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors, and one person representing the Commission. Appointments to TRANSPAC must be made by the Board of Supervisors under the TRANSPAC Administrative Procedures. You are requested to appoint Mr. Stewart to the TRANSPAC Committee on this basis. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: The County would not have full representation on the TRANSPAC Committee, which influences transportation related plans, decisions and policies in central Contra Costa County and is advisory to the full Contra Costa Transportation Authority.
