BACKGROUND: (CONT'D) of the sub-contractors was inadvertently left off the original contract. In addition to this omission, Caltrans has added a new language requirement regarding Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE) that will affect reimbursement of any federal funds for work under this Contract. Approval of this Contract Amendment No. 1 will allow the Contractor to continue providing environmental services, and allow the additional subcontractor to receive payment for their work. All other terms and conditions in this Contract entered into on March 15, 2012 between the County and the Contractor not modified by this Amendment No. 1 shall remain in full force and effect. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If the contract amendment is not approved by the Board of Supervisors, current and future projects will not obtain necessary environmental clearances which may jeopardize funding and cause delays with construction.
