AUTHORIZE relief of cash shortage in Health Services Department, Behavioral Health Division, Mental Health
Program, in the amount of $1496.89, as recommended by the Auditor-Controller.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Cash shortage in the amount of $1,496.89 will be funded with 100% Mental Health Realignment revenue.
BACKGROUND:
In accordance with the provisions of Administrative Bulletin 207, the Auditor Controller has verified and concurs
with the report of a cash shortage in the amount of 41,496.89 in the Health Services Department, Adult Mental Health
Program. This shortage occurred due to the Department violating county regulations governing allowable expenses.
These improper expenses were not caused by fraud or gross negligence and all payments were solely for Mental
Health clients. Staff has been advised that these type of expenses are not allowable.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
The shortage will not be relieved and cash will not be in balance.
