HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 10162012 - C.99RECOMMENDATION(S): ADOPT Resolution No. 2012/425 rescinding the previous designation and making new designations of staff authorized to involuntarily detain persons in order to provide evaluation and treatment services as required under Welfare and Institutions Code Section 5000 et seq., and the Laternman-Petris Short Act. FISCAL IMPACT: No fiscal impact. BACKGROUND: This proposed resolution would supersede Resolution #2007/457. It adds expands the designation of qualified health professionals who can initiate 5150 holds to include advanced degree nurses with a specialization in mental health (registered nurses with Master's Degree and above) and mental health nurse practioners of specified hospitals in Contra Costa County CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: The designation will not be extended to staff and a person in need of services may not receive them. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: Not applicable.
