current policy and directed County staff to return at a future date with a modernized version of the policy for
additional discussion. Staff from the County Administrator's Office, the Auditor-Controller's Office and the Public
Works - Fleet Services Division updated the current policy for review by the Committee.
On June 15, 2012, the Internal Operations Committee reviewed the proposed policy update and requested

Committee approved the revised policy, direct staff to forward to the Board of Supervisors for consideration on
the consent calendar and recommended terminating the referral on this issue.
In fiscal year 2011/12, there were 111 Take-Home vehicles assigned and 8,220 FTE positions Countywide. In
fiscal year 2012/13, there were 105 Take-Home vehicles assigned and 8,398 FTE positions countywide.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
The current policy will remain in effect.
