HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 10162012 - C.83RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract Amendment Agreement #27-866-1 with Infectious Disease Doctors Medical Group, a professional corporation, effective September 1, 2012, to amend Contract #27-866, to increase the payment limit by $430,000, from $170,000 to a new payment limit of $600,000, with no change in the original term of March 1, 2012 through February 28, 2014. FISCAL IMPACT: This amendment is funded 100% by Member Premiums. (No rate increase) BACKGROUND: The Health Plan has an obligation to provide certain specialized professional health care services for its members under the terms of their Individual and Group Health Plan membership contracts with the County. On March 27, 2012, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #27-866 with Infectious Disease Doctors Medical Group, a professional corporation for the period from March 1, 2012 through February 28, 2014, for the provision of infectious disease/antibiotic infusion for Health Plan. Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #27-866-1 will allow the Contractor to provide additional services through February 28, 2014. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this amendment is not approved, Plan members will not have access to Contractor’s specialized professional health care services as required under the terms of their Individual and Group Health Plan membership contracts with the County.
