Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract
#26-305-28 with Vista Staffing Solutions, Inc., a corporation, in an amount not to exceed $350,000, to provide
temporary physicians for Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers and the County’s
Main Detention Facility, for the period from October 1, 2012 through September 30, 2013.
FISCAL IMPACT:
100% Enterprise Fund I. Cost to the County depends upon utilization. As appropriate, patients and/or third party
payors will be billed or services. No change in rates.
BACKGROUND:
On October 4, 2011, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-305-27 with Vista Staffing Solutions, Inc. for
the period from October 1, 2011 through September 30, 2012, to provide locum tenens physicians to work as
temporary employees to ensure appropriate medical staff coverage at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and
Contra Costa Health Centers and the County's

Main Detention Facility.
Approval of Contract #26-305-28 will allow the Contractor to continue to provide temporary physicians for Contra
Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers and the County’s Main Detention Facility, through
September 30, 2013.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this contract is not approved, Contra Costa Regional Medical and Contra Costa Health Centers and the County's
Main Detention Facility would not have appropriate physician coverage during temporary staff absences therefore
patients would go untreated.
