HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 10162012 - C.74RECOMMENDATION(S):
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent, or designee, on behalf of the Public Works Director, to execute
a purchase order amendment with Bay Area Barricade, to increase the payment limit by $80,000 to a new payment
limit of $235,000 for safety items, signs and hardware for the period from January 1, 2008 through December 31,
2012. (Local Road and Flood Control Funds).
FISCAL IMPACT:
Funded by 100% Local Road and Flood Control Funds.
BACKGROUND:
Public Works Road Maintenance uses various types and styles of safety equipment, from personal protective items to
traffic control equipment. Public Works bid these items on Bidsync 0712-002 in December 2007. This agreement
terminates December 31, 2012. This request will supply enough funds to the end of the current agreement at which
time Bidsync #1209-004 will be complete and will be the basis for a new agreement.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this purchase order amendment is not approved, Safety equipment for Road Maintenance will not be purchased
from Bay Area Barricades.
