HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 10162012 - C.72RECOMMENDATION(S):
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent, or designee, on behalf of the Public Works Director, to execute
a purchase order amendment, with Hunt & Sons, to increase the payment limit by $102,000 to a new payment limit
of $200,000, for diesel and unleaded fuel, for the period from February 1, 2012 through January 31, 2013.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This cost is to be funded through Fiscal Year 2012/13 Fleet Internal Service Fund (ISF) maintenance budgets. (100%
ISF)
BACKGROUND:
Public Works Fleet Management has operated the fueling station located on Waterbird Way since 1993. It services
County and other agency vehicles as a self-serve fueling station. Fuel is stored in 12,000 gallon underground fuel
tanks. Fleet Management solicits and accepts daily fuel bids from several vendors. Hunt & Sons is consistently a low
bidder and we are currently spending over $30,000 per month, with four months remaining on our purchase order.
