HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 10162012 - C.53RECOMMENDATION(S): Adopt Position Adjustment Resolution No. 21165 to increase the hours of Licensed Vocational Nurse (VT7G) position #7434 from 38/40 to 40/40 and increase the hours of Public Health Nurse (VVXA) position #8442 from 32/40 to 40/40 in the Health Services Department. FISCAL IMPACT: Upon approval, this action will result in an annual cost of approximately $36,205, including pension costs of $8743, and will be funded by 12% Enterprise I and 88% California Children Services State Funding. BACKGROUND: In accordance with Section 52C of the MOU between the County and Local 1, permanent-intermittent and permanent part-time employees in classes represented by Local 1 who wish to have their position hours increased, must so request in writing each January and/or July. The Department must review each request considering the actual hours assigned and worked by the employee during the previous six months as well as the anticipated continuing need for the additional hours. BACKGROUND: (CONT'D) The Health Services Department has evaluated the requests and verified that the incumbents have consistently worked above their position hours and the need for the additional hours will continue. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this action is not approved, the Department will not have sufficient hours in these positions to perform required and state mandated functions.
