HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 10162012 - C.44RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE Appropriations Adjustment No. 5009 authorizing the transfer of appropriations in the amount of $228,612 from the Sheriff Narcotic Forfeiture Fund (0253) to be distributed as follows: $187,662 is transferred to General Services - ISF Fleet (0064) Services for the purchase of 2 Ford Fusion and 3 Chevy Tahoe vehicles for the Sheriff Investigation unit ($162,960 for the vehicles, $24,702 for labor), while $40,950 is transferred to the Sheriff Investigation Unit (2535) for the purchase of radio & communication equipment. FISCAL IMPACT: This action increases revenues and expenditures by $228,612 with no change to net County cost. The new revenue is from the Sheriff Narcotic Forfeiture Fund (0253). BACKGROUND: The Sheriff's Investigation Unit is in need of additional and replacement equipment. Over time and with growth of the Division, there is a shortage of available equipment, and/or existing equipment has reached the end of its useful life. Additionally, the requested equipment is required to enhance safety and maintain consistency within the Division and the Department. This includes the costs associated with the purchase, lease, maintenance or operation of law enforcement equipment for use by law enforcement personnel that supports law enforcement activities.
