HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 10162012 - C.30RECOMMENDATION(S): ACCEPT the resignation of Julie Mason, DECLARE a vacancy in District V, Public Sector Seat on the Economic Opportunity Council, and DIRECT the Clerk of the Board to post the vacancy, as recommended by the Employment and Human Services Interim Director, Theresa Speiker. FISCAL IMPACT: None. BACKGROUND: The functions of the Economic Opportunity Council include: To participate in, and advise the Board of Supervisors regarding the selection of the Director. To exercise all powers delegated to it by the Board of Supervisors. To hold public hearings to determine overall program goals for the EOC. To review fiscal and programmatic reports submitted by staff and the performance of Community Services Block Grant contractors and the Weatherization program services. To select its officers and appoint members to EOC Committees. To require and receive budget and other reports prepared by staff every other month along with an Annual Report in September. Ms. Julie Mason was appointed on July 12, 2011 with a term of June 30, 2013. Ms. Mason submitted her resignation to the Economic Development Council on September 24, 2012. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If left unfilled, the Economic Opportunity Council will be unable to fill this vacancy. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: Not applicable.
