Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract
#26-458-18 with AYA Healthcare, Inc., a corporation, in an amount not to exceed $250,000, to provide temporary
nursing staff for Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers, for the period from
September 1, 2012 through August 31, 2013.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This Contract is funded 100% by Enterprise Fund I. (No rate increase)
BACKGROUND:
In September 2011, the County Administrator approved and the Purchasing Services Manager executed Contract
#26-458-15 (as amended by Amendment Agreements #26-458-16 and #26-458-17) with AYA Healthcare, Inc., to
provide temporary nursing services at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers, for
the period from September 1, 2011 through August 31, 2012.
Approval of Contract #26-458-18 will allow the Contractor to continue providing temporary nursing services, to
cover during

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this contract is not approved, Contra Costa Regional Medical and Contra Costa Health would not have appropriate
nursing staff to provide coverage during temporary staff absences and shortages therefore patients would go untreated.
