Inc., in an amount not to exceed $320,000 to provide architectural services for the Exterior Renovations Project at 625 Court Street, Martinez. 2. AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director, or designee, to execute the Agreement. FISCAL IMPACT: The project will be expensed in budget unit 0111, Plant Acquisition, in the General Fund. The funding to cover this expense will come from budget unit 0085, Facilities Life-cycle Investment Program (FLIP) funds, in the General Fund. Inc. for Architectural Services BACKGROUND: (CONT'D) Office and the County Treasurer’s Office, including repairs to the deteriorated metal roof and ornamental components, repair and cleaning of the stained and dirty masonry facade, and replacement of the leaking built-up roof. The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Landmark Plaque No. N1619. Carey & Co. Inc. (San Francisco) was selected through a competitive, qualifications-based selection process. A Request for Qualifications ("RFQ") for architectural services was advertised and thirteen responses were received. Four firms were short-listed for interviews. A selection committee comprised of County staff conducted interviews and ranked the short-listed firms, with Carey & Co. being the top ranked firm with the best demonstrated competence and professional qualifications for this project. Contract negotiations have been completed and staff recommends award to Carey & Co. of a Consulting Services Agreement in an amount not to exceed $320,000. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If the Agreement is not approved and authorized, the building will continue to deteriorate and leak. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: Not applicable.
