HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 09252012 - C.33RECOMMENDATION(S):
APPROVE Appropriations and Revenue Adjustment No. 5001 authorizing new revenue in the amount of $89,500
from Law Enforcement Capital Projects-Communications (0129) and appropriating it to the Sheriff's Office (0255)
for the purchase and installation of two P2000 FM transceiver systems in each of the Sheriff's helicopters.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This action increases revenue and expenditures by $89,500, with no change to net County cost.
BACKGROUND:
With the CCC Office of the Sheriff switching over to the new 800 MHz radio system, it has become necessary to
purchase new radios and have them professionally installed in our helicopters by an FAA certified Avionics
Specialist. APR Aviation, Inc. is the nearest provider of both. These transceiver systems can not be purchased
directly, but must be purchased by a registered provider, which is APR Aviation.
When it comes to navigation, communication and engine systems monitoring equipment, APR Aviation is
knowledgeable about which systems will work best in each particular aircraft. They precisely install and test these
new avionics
