HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 02041986 - X.8 IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA IN THE MATTER OF ) Proclaiming February 3, 1986 ) through the 7th as a Drug and) Alcohol Abuse Prevention Week) in Contra Costa County ) RESOLUTION NO. 86/43 WHEREAS, Northgate High School is conducting a Chemical Substance Awareness Program in the City of Walnut Creek, California on February 3rd through 7th, 1986; and WHEREAS, this program "THINK ABOUT TOMORROW - SAY NO TODAY" is an educational effort to lend support to students who .do not want to use drugs including alcohol , and to the students who want to do something about their own drug and alcohol use; and WHEREAS, over 1 ,500 students and 500 parents along with the faculty are showing exceptional civic leadership in the development of this program; and WHEREAS, this model program can be used for the benefit of other schools in Walnut Creek, in Contra Costa County and throughout the nation; and WHEREAS, the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors commend the students, parents, teachers and administrators of Northgate High School for their leadership in the fight against Chemical Substance Abuse. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County proclaim the week of February 3rd through 7th, 1986 as a Drug and Alcohol Abuse Prevention Week in Contra Costa County. Passed and adopted by unanimous vote of the Board members present on this 4th day of February.
