HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 09182012 - C.23RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract #22-852-11 with Greater Richmond Inter-Faith Program, a non-profit corporation, in an amount not to exceed $420,000, to provide consultation and technical assistance to the Health Services Department’s Clinic Services Program for the period from September 1, 2012 through August 31, 2013. FISCAL IMPACT: This Contract is funded 71% by Federal Qualified Health Care Center funds, 7% US Department of Health and Human Services Teenage Pregnancy and Prevention (TPP) grant and 22% Health Services Department Community Education and Information (CEI) funds. (No rate increase) BACKGROUND: This Contract meets the social needs of County’s population by providing direct consultation, technical assistance and implementation of health education activities at various high schools. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this contract is not approved, direct consultation to the Department’s Clinic Services Program’s regarding coordination of health education activities will not be provided. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: This program supports the following Board of Supervisors’ community outcomes: “Children Ready For and Succeeding in School”; “Families that are Safe, Stable, and Nurturing”; and “Communities that are Safe and Provide a High Quality of Life for Children and Families”. Expected program outcomes include a decrease in the number of teenage pregnancies in Contra Costa County.
