Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract
#23–529 with Relyon Consulting, LLC, Limited Liability Corporation, in an amount not to exceed $292,000 to
provide consultation and technical assistance with regard to support of the Epic electronic health Record (E.H.R) for
the Information Technology Unit of the Health Service Department, for the period from October 1, 2012 through
September 30, 2013.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The Contract is funded 100% by Enterprise I funds.
BACKGROUND:
Contra Costa Health Services (CCHS) has recently implemented the Epic EHR throughout Health Services. Under
Contract #23-529, Contractor will provide professional consultation services for support and optimization of the
project, and assistance with implementation of the next major version upgrade through September 30, 2013.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this contract is not approved, CCHS will not have the expert technical assistance available for support and
optimization of the product or for a successful major version upgrade. CCHS would have to rely on inexperienced
staff, creating a high risk for failure and an impact to patient care.
