Approve and authorize the Health Service Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract
#26-391-19 with Maxim Health Care Services, Inc., a corporation, in an amount not to exceed $785,000, to provide
temporary registry services at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers, for the period
from September 1, 2012 through August 31, 2013.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This Contract is 100% funded by the Enterprise Fund I. No increase in rates.
BACKGROUND:
On September 13, 2011, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-391-16 (as amended by Amendment
Agreements #26-391-17 and #26-391-18) with Maxim Healthcare Services, Inc., for the period from September 1,
2011 through August 31, 2012, for the provision of temporary help services professionals to provide temporary relief
for County employees during peak loads, temporary absences, vacations or emergency situations at Contra Costa
Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
of Contract #26-391-19 will allow the Contractor to continue to provide services through August 31, 2013.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this contract is not approved, Contra Costa Regional Medical and Contra Costa Health Centers would not have
appropriate coverage during peak loads, temporary absences, vacations or emergency situations temporary staff
absences, therefore, patients would have longer wait times and possibly go untreated.
