HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 09112012 - C.96RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Risk Manager to execute a contract with Essential Staffing, Inc. for consulting services and workers' compensation staffing services for the period from July 1, 2012 through June 30, 2013 in an amount not to exceed $633,338. FISCAL IMPACT: Costs for workers' compensation claims administration services are funded through the Workers' Compensation Internal Service Funds. BACKGROUND: Essential Staffing, Inc. specializes in providing highly experienced workers’ compensation adjusters and clerical support. These services result in a reduction of claim inventory to industry standards and an excellent audit rating by California State Association of Counties Excess Insurance Authority as well as increased confidence level to the internal service fund. Essential Staffing also provides support to staff with medical restrictions and vacation coverage. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: County would not have adequate technical assistance for workers' compensation claims processing.
