HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 09112012 - C.88RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Purchasing Agent, on behalf of the Health Services Department, to execute a change order to Purchase Order #36019 with Pharmedium Services, LLC, to increase total from $150,000 to a new total of $225,000, for pain management/premix medications at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers, for the period from February 1, 2011 through January 31, 2013. FISCAL IMPACT: 100% Enterprise Fund I. BACKGROUND: Recalls and back orders of medications have prompted the Pharmacy Department to directly purchase medications through manufacturers such as Pharmedium Services, LLC. Pharmedium Services, LLC strictly adheres to U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) compounding guidelines through exclusive use of commercially available FDA approved sterile, additives, solutions and containers. These medications are in short supply or not commercially available through wholesaler Cardinal.
