APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent, or designee, to execute a purchase order with Dapper Tire in an
amount not to exceed $160,000, for automobile and light truck tires, for the period from September 01, 2012 through
August 31, 2013.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This cost is to be funded through Fleet Management FY 12/13 ISF budget.
BACKGROUND:
Public Works Fleet Management is responsible for vehicle maintenance. Tires are an important commodity for this
maintenance. Goodyear tires have been established as the County standard. Goodyear Tires can be purchased through
any Goodyear dealer for government prices. Dapper Tire in Hayward is the local Goodyear warehouse and is our
primary source for tires. East Bay Tire in Pittsburg is our secondary source. We are requesting a purchase order for
the period September 1, 2012 through August 31, 2013 in an amount not to exceed $160,000.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this agreement is not approved, Goodyear Tires will not be purchased at government pricing.
