Subject:2012/13 Calif. Dept. of Educ. Alternative Payment Childcare services revenue contract, amendment 1
BACKGROUND:
California Department of Education notified the Department on June 5, 2012 of the 2011/12 funding allocation for
alternative payment childcare services. Approval of this revenue contract will provide support funds for alternative
payment childcare services to program eligible children and families. The board approved receipt of these funds on
June 26, 2012. The State routinely adjusts the amount of these agreements throughout the program year. This board
action is to accept additional funds in the amount of $114,936.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If not approved, County will not receive funding to operate this childcare program.
CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT:
The Employment & Human Services Department Community Services Bureau supports three of Contra Costa
County’s community outcomes - Outcome 1: “Children Ready for and Succeeding in School,” Outcome 3: “Families
that are Economically Self-sufficient,” and, Outcome 4: “Families that are Safe, Stable, and Nurturing.” These
outcomes are achieved by offering comprehensive services, including high quality early childhood education,
nutrition, and health services to low-income children throughout Contra Costa County.
