THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA
Adopted this Order on February 4 , 1986 , by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Fanden, Schroder, McPeak, Torlakson and Powers
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
ABSTAIN: None
SUBJECT: Memorial to the Seven Crew Members of the recent
Space Shuttle Disaster
Supervisor R. 1 . Schroder advised that he has requested
William Beat, Superintendent of Park•-s ,, Diablo District, State
Department of Parks and Recreation to light the beacon on Mt. Diablo ,
in memory of the crew members who lost- their lives in the recent
space shuttle disaster. He stated that the beacon will be lighted
on Wednesday, February 5, 1986 from 6 : 00 p.m. to 1 : 00 a.m. , a seven
hour period in honor of the seven dead crew members .
The Board CONCURRED and ENDORSED the action of Supervisor
Schroder .
