REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATION/BACKGROUND
On January 28, 19861, Supervisor Fanden provided the Board with a resolution supporting the
State Water Resources Control Board tentative order concerning wastewater discharge permit
of the Chevron USA Refinery. This matter was referred by the Board to the Water Committee.
The Water Committee met on February 3, 1986 to discuss this matter.
The attached resolution is consistent with previous Board policies concerning protection of
the water quality in the Bay/Delta system. The Committee added an additional provision
that the water quality requirements also be placed on other discharges to the Bay in order
to insure an equitable and improved water quality situation.
The workshop of the State Water Resources Control Board is scheduled for February 5, 1986
so it is important that the Board act on this resolution at the February 4, 1986 Board
meeting, i
