Bueren, Public Works Date:September 11, 2012 Contra Costa County Subject:APPROVE the Conveyance of Real Property to the State of California RECOMMENDATION(S): (CONT'D) AUTHORIZE the Chair, Board of Supervisors to execute a Grant Deed on behalf of the County. DIRECT the Real Estate Division of the Public Works Department to cause said grant Deed to be delivered to the grantee for recording in the office of the County Recorder. FISCAL IMPACT: No fiscal impact. BACKGROUND: On October 27, 1998, the Board approved an Agreement (Contract No.86) to provide right of way services by County staff to Contra Costa Transportation Authority (CCTA) for the State Route 4 East/Bailey to Railroad Avenue project. CCTA required a variety of right of way services but had no right of way staff and contracted with the County for these services. Contract No.86 is on file at the Public Works Department. County Staff has acquired all the necessary right of way in the County’s name for the widening of State Route 4 East/Bailey to Railroad Avenue project and CCTA has requested that the County convey the right of way to the State pursuant to Contract No.86. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: The County would continue to own property within the State Highway 4 right of way and would not be in compliance with Contract 86 as amended. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: Not applicable. ATTACHMENTS Grant Deed Exhibit A
